My first playthrough, I was somewhere between fourteen and eighteen, with a full party.

At the end you can be a huge level because of SPOILER the sphere which grants you like 200.000 xp you don't have to share with anyone SPOILER
That way I was around level 22. If you would solo the game, I think you could to around level 30, but that's not what Planescape is about.
Klorox, it really doesn't matter that much what level you are, unlike in BG and others, just see leveling as a bonus to the gameplay.

I'm usually around 23 as a mage.

24 mage I think first time, got whooped however by the "Boss". Also was evil and met Vhailor. (Although I didn't know who he was at that time, just missed him the first few times I played game when walking through that damned portal.)

if you use bronze-sphere at very end of the game, you'll get 2.000.000 XP, yes, 2MillionXP, with that, Nameless One ended up at Fighter LvL33, Mage LvL12, and yes it can be more if you "farm" XP.

Aye, I agree with Arachna, though I managed to reach that level (in as late as my third or so playthrough) without the use of the sphere.
