Twister Rune quest questions spoiler?

Ok I've never done the twisted rune quest before I randomly read about it somewhere on the forums, and eventually I have found the entrance and got in, killed the lich and his little buddies in a pinch... well this makes me feel terribly stupid but how is one supposed to get out?

There are two items in the room of interest other than the stuff on the bodies; a cauldron and a weird machine thingy in the room, the machine says it needs something triggered, and the cauldron boils when you get closer with a twisted rune symbols on it and says: "The orb is sight. The eye is the way. The path yet remains..."

If it's a riddle, I clearly don't get it, and I don't know how to get back to the Bridge District. There's a set of stairs, but no stair option appears when I put my cursor over it. So far all I have done is killed the lich and his buddies, and circle the room a few times...

One can't exactly blame me for charging in blindly for this quest as I had never done it and my curiosity got the better of me... but it turned out all right for the battle, in fact it was quite easy, I just can't get out of the area now XD

Well, you're asking for a spoiler, so here it goes:

The orbs eye is one of the beholder's eyes. Pick it up and put it in the cauldron.

this is a spoiler so could someone please add "spoiler" to the thread title please?

Thanks, the eyeball blended right in with the beholder so I couldn't find it.
