Hey guys, I am soloing SoA with a fighter right now and Im going to start Chap 3 when I realised that I have to identify all my objects in a store. Is there any way to identify items when Im on my own in Spellhold, Underdark and such?

Yes, you can buy an item called "Glasses of Identification" which is first sold on the second level of Galean's home.

No. You will encounter characters that can identify throughout your journeys. Also, you can try to rely on your own lore and any intelligence increasing potions that you might find.

It's really a great waste of gold when I played with my solo Wizard Slayer. He cannot use the Glasses of Identification, and I had to distribute most of his points to Str, Dex, Con and even Cha(because he cannot wear the Ring of Human Influence), so he couldn't identify almost nothing. So, I had to pay lots of GP to merchants throughout the game only to identify some items which I wanted to sell or something. This even made some items 'not worthy identifying' at all. What's the use of identifying a dagger +1 for 100 GP when afterwards the storekeep offers 90GP to buy it?

Money shouldn't be a problem when going solo, I usually ID in shops to save spell slots.
