Hi again.... Uhm well im still pretty noob at oblivion and havnt played spellcaster at all until to day where i just created my first mage-to-be character. At first I thought that he should wear light armor "because all wizards wears robes" But then i thought... Hey? Why should my wizard wear light armor? Truth be told i dont know the strength and weaknesses of the different armor class exept that I have this idea of heavy armor giving better protection but weighs more and makes you slower?

Could you guyes plz tell me what is the actual difference of the armor classes and the resons to why/why not my mage should wear light,medium or heavy armor ?

And oh btw ( this is a little off topic ) I would like for my mage to use one-hand blade and be good at it ( and still live after doing melee ) what suggestion do you have then for major skills, item selection and so on?

A Mage can wear any armour. BUT - armour affects the strength of the spells he casts, until he is highly skilled with it.
Also, a Mage tends not to have a high STR attribute, so it would be a bit silly to weigh him down with heavy armour, imo, as it reduces his mobility and the amout of 'found' items he can carry. I even prefer clothing for Combat types, though it has to be enchanted with something worthwhile, like SHIELD.

So, for the slight shielding it offers, I would start him with Light armour, and move on to enchanted clothes as soon as possible.
If you want your Mage to be good with a weapon, put it in Major Skills. And USE it! It'll increase your STR attribute. (On that point, go along to the Arena district and watch the pair of people sparring hand to hand for a nice little hike that will be added to STR when you level.
Don't put Illusion or Alchemy into Major skills. But DO buy Illusion spells Starlight and Night Eye.
