The Hangover House Cafe

I figured it was time for a new social thread. Note, I did not say, "pub thread." I drank waaaay too much champagne last night celebrating Barack Obama's victory, and now thousands of little hammers are ringing inside my head :o :D
So.. I figure I need a hangover breakfast..
Pancakes, maple syrup (100% extra virgin :D ), back bacon, pan fried potatoes and a large pot of fresh brewed black coffee.

OK, for those who require a hangover cure, or who are just plain hungry, time to belly up to the trough :D

Hangover breakfast? To me that's a contradiction in terms. Substitute the pancakes and syrup with one large medium-rare sirloin and some eggs, and I'm there.

Oh I knew my limits last night, although I did have a few of my American Ales that I brewed for the election (because a neighbor is big in the campaign and gave me hops) I put Crenshinibon's photo of Palin and Obama iceskating on the label

Is being hungover a requirement for posting here?

And, yum, those pancakes sound nice. :D

You should have been around this place around 2001... my threads are tame compared to anything that was posted then :D

ROFL! I thought that was just a great photo, what an awesome use for it too!

Nope, but if you are hungover you get an extra large helping of pancakes and a couple of Advil on the house :p

Pancakes are universal. All threads are, in fact, about pancakes. :speech:

I don't know, I'm starting to think that Tricky and Dragon Wench are the leaders of some sort of pancake company... And virgin syrup.

Well yeah.. but I didn't want to hijack Tricky's, and besides that thread seems to have a more existential nature. I'm not really sure how existential hangovers are :D

It's a global conspiracy... we plan to overtake the world by over feeding everyone pancakes and virgin syrup. They'll be so stuffed that they won't be able to move or resist :p

Existential? I assume you mean solipsistic. :)

Eeeh... perhaps, but I'm in no shape to debate the point :o
Besides, I'm not sure the posts in there could even exist within the mind, let alone outside of it...

If you feed a virgin too many pancakes, will the poor child ever get laid? Truly, a dilemma for the ages.

The best way to get rid of a hangover is to drink some more.

Cheers! :D

Oh yeah, I'm having a stack of jacks with that virgin thingy topped with luscious butter... yum yum...

Oh God no... I don't even want to think about the 'hair of the dog' :speech:
It's only now, after several pots of strong, black coffee and the contents of about half a tub of Tiger Balm pasted around my head, neck and shoulders that my headache is finally beginning to subside. I looked for painkillers, but we were all out, so I was actually forced to deal with it more naturally

lol! *passes Mah a large stack of pancakes topped with lots of butter and oozing virgin maple syrup* :D

ROFLMAO! Hey.... that's a new marketing angle... pancakes and extra virgin syrup promote abstinence.. :D
Spoiler
Maybe I should give the recipe to Sarah Palin....

I'm already working on tomorrows hangover...must recognize my limits hehe. My hangover cure is to focus on my time in misery and realize that I am lucky that I don't feel like that in always and also to feel fellowship with all the beings who are suffering.

Nah, I just figured it was time to diversify. Besides, the other bar was, well a bar... Given my splitting headache I was looking for something that didn't involve alcohol :D

See, that's the thing, I actually was not intending to even get a hangover. I even made a point of sticking to exactly the same alcohol, since that usually helps to reduce any ill effects. But... ugh... must have been the bubbles combined with the sugar, though it was dry champagne...
I knew there was a reason I prefer Scotch...

I nearly wet myself laughing after finally noticing your "spoiler" - perhaps she could borrow some syrup from the Russians? Goodness knows maple deliciousness will work better than the nonsense they try to educate us with in public schools these days ;) .

On a separate note, election night + a friend's birthday + contemporary music listening sessions = a fellow sorely needed another round. Huzzah pancakes!
