Screenshots

I cannot seem to work out how to do this. I want to take in game screenshots. I have tried all sorts of stuff and have searched these forums and the forums at the Witcher site (mostly in Polish so that was fun). I even read right through the pdf manual found in the game folders. No information on screenshots in there at all but I learned some useful tips (and raised other questions). The game will not work with my favoured method for this which is running my graphics programme in the background and using a particular key combination to capture the screen - always comes out black.

Anyway, is it possible to take in game screenshots or do I really have to hit the print screen button and alt-tab out of the game every time in order to paste the image in PSP? I can't believe that's the only option.

Well, you could try using FRAPS. Just to warn you will have to pay for the full version. The download is a stripped down version.

Thanks, I'll have a fiddle with that and see whether it works though from the description on the site, it does exactly what my paint programme is supposed to do. Maybe it's my video card. But what you're saying is there is nothing in the game that allows you to do this - like there is in NWN2 for instance?

No. I checked the control section in options and didn't find any capture screenshot key. Nothing to do with what kind of video card you're using. I'm afraid that you might have to resort to either your method or the program I suggested.

Google the "insane difficulty" witcher mod. The web site includes a mod to hide the interface so you get a clean shot. Then use the old standby Alt-PrintScreen to copy the screen to the clipboard.
