The latest unofficial patch version 5.8 can be found as usually at (The Patches Scrolls) Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Downloads

Thanks go to Dheu for including his mod development guide and to Wabbite and jor for making the fixed shaderapidx9.dll available. With this version all dlls should be included to get rid of the blurry textures with more than 2 GB RAM on XP or Vista. Besides this and the usual bug fixes two more poster quests have been added to the plus patch to make use of the four lately restored easter-egg items.

+Made Ventrue start off with Charisma +1 instead of Camarilla bonus.

Great job Wesp!

I only encountered the multiple stock-ups bug yesterday, but it's good to see that you got it in there.

I'll have a chance to test this patch soon, as I'm at the end of my third playthrough, this time as a Toreador, and will be starting my fourth one, as a Tremere shortly.

EDIT: I just updated from patch 5.7, right before going on the final Taxi ride. I am able to go to my haven, Mercurio's apartment and Chinatown, however, when I try to go to Vandal, I find myself either being able to move around in the car or seeing the "sidebars" of the road and blackness everywhere else, thus I am unable to buy blood in the end.

I just tested this here and it works for me. So it's either a random glitch or connected to the update while using the old saved game.

Nice. Hopefully it fixes the crash I encountered after the intro in v5.7.

Alright. I didn't need the blood anyway as it turns out.

The "updated" durations did not show up on my character sheet. Could that be because I updated the game while in mid playthrough?

Yes, I would think so.

I noticed a bug with Miligan. When I send him to his death the cutscene starts, but instead of running through the door, he starts standing near the staircase and the cutscene never ends. I tried reloading it didn't work.

yeah the same thing happened to me on this patch. I just went into the console and typed in "killcamera" or something like that...it took me out of the cutscene and Milligan was just standing there. I repeated the dialogue over and over with him..nothing happened...but every time i told him to run away i got humanity points...so it was a very useful bug :D

Damn, you are right. I tested it myself and somehow the fix I made for the endgame broke this cutscene although they are not connected at all! I changed the endgame fix and this will work again in 5.9...

I noticed another bug which occurs only when playing as a Nosferatu. There's an unnecessary quest log update in the dialog file of the male disease bum which updates the Fun with pestilence quest even when it was already completed(because you killed Jezebel Locke first). I checked the file with Total Commander and I think it's in line 61.

Fixed, thanks!

Question, is the unofficial patch compatible with the True VTMB 504 patch, or not?

Sir Twist wrote:Question, is the unofficial patch compatible with the True VTMB 504 patch, or not?
No, because it contains much more fixes. If you install the unofficial patch on top of the "true" patch, the latter will be completely overwritten. If you install the "true" patch on top of the unofficial patch you will get a lot of bugs back and probably some more because of incompabilities. If you want to stay close to the original release better use only the basic version of the unofficial patch.

Ok, thanks. I think I'll add in a few other mods that should work, and see what happens from there. Thanks Wesp for clarifying things for me.

Hey Wesp, just out of curiosity, have you expressed any interest in working with the guys trying to put this game on the updated Source engine? Maybe I'm biased, but you seem to know the game better than anyone, so you being involved would probably help a lot. Maybe, I dunno. What are your thoughts on the whole thing?

They are aware of my patch and I think they will include the fixes once they get to that stage, but as far as I know they are still way off even from a working alpha.

I recently got the game off Steam, haven't played it yet. Excellent work on the patch, btw. What's the difference between the Basic and Plus versions?

The plus patch includes certain tidbits that don't count as bug fixes, but add to the flavor of the game, adding some new items, new quests and touching up on balance issues.

Are they recommended for a first playthrough, or only on later playthroughs?
