The Sheriff is LaCroix's personal bodyguard, killer, and enforcer.
He is a Gangrel,during the tutorial with Jack he uses Spectral Wolf and Pestilence to kill off members of the Sabbat that are raiding the Camarilla meeting, both of those disciplines are strictly Gangrel powers, he is also one of the "main bosses".
But in the end of the game, the Sheriff can transform into a bat-like creature called the "Chiropteran Behemoth". Given that, in the pen and paper version of V:TM, this is a power of the Vicissitude Discipline, exclusive to the Tzimisce clan, this raises questions over whether the Sheriff is truly a Gangrel.

What do you think about this??

He's a Tzimisce, no doubt in my mind. I mean just look at him! He doesn't really fit the aristocratic mindset you'd expect, but the way he looks really seems like the result of vicissitude. Also, animalism is one of their other disciplines so yeah. Tzimisce.

edit: I think it would have been cool if they expounded on this in the game. For example, the only way you could defeat him was to find the soil from his homeland and mess with it somehow. A bit of dialogue between you and him would have been cool too.

I thought the Sheriff was a variation on the gangrels, myself, and the behemoth was a mutant form of the war form. Or a more advanced form. But it is possible that he is a tzimisce, with gangrel abilities.

I think the conclusion was that he is Nagloper - an African shape-changing clan. That fits pretty well with Prince Sebaaarstian (sorry) picking the Sheriff up in the African jungle.
