Deekin gone? :(

I'm playing HotU, end of chapter 2/start of Chapter 3. I have Valen and Deekin as henchies at the final battle against the Valsharess. I defeat her, however, when Mephistopheles sends me to Cania, I can only have the Reaper resurrect Valen. What gives? Am I missing something or has the little guy really gone poof?

P.S: He was still alive when I finished the battle and I even tried reloading and doing the whole battle from scratch. Nada.

re: Deekin gone
The Valsharess battle is a little buggy ( such as you suddenly are frozen ...) so my guess is if you exit the game then reloading a previous game, it may help. Other than that, I don't think of anything else that will help.

I'm having a similar issue...only for me, the Reaper did not give me an option to bring my henchmen to me. In fact, they didn't even follow me to fight the Valsharess, which I thought was odd.
I was told by someone I needed to ask the Reaper to bring my henchmen to me when I "first meet the Reaper". By that do they mean at the start of HotU or at some point in SoU? In HotU I didn't get any prompt from the Reaper to do this at the start of Chapter 1 or at the start of Chapter 3.
I hope I don't have to back track that far to get Deekin back

but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get him back.

No, that is normal.

When you first met the Reaper in chapter 3. There is an option about your companions. I believe that this option is still open unless you already said you don't want henchmen.
