Hey people, been a long time browser of this website and forum ever since I was like five and watched my older brother kill some dude in black armor whos voice gave me nightmares in BG1. Anyway, what I wanted to get to was that during this last year I picked up these games again and started playing through them thoroughly, I am now at the very end of throne of bhaal with my assasin and I'm looking to play through it all again but with a kensai/thief dual class (since I love carsomyr but as an assasin I can't use it that effectively), what I want to know is which class I should pick first.

My original thought was to play a thief to lvl 24 and get use any item and then dual into kensai. But as I read through these forums and walkthroughs I saw that almost everyone did the opposite. Is there any particular reason for this? I've never even tried dualing before so I'm not exactly sure how best to do it and if I do start with the kensai at what lvl should I dual into thief?

Only the class you start with can have a kit, so you cannot dual to kensai.
