It's been so long since I played NWN2 that I can't remember if this was an issue, but every time I try to leave the Sunken Flagon my game crashes.

Was this an issue and is there a work around or a patch to fix it?

I encountered this as well, looked around the web, many people have the problem, using the newest patch (1.21) is supposed to fix it, but for those of us who were using a nocd crack, we'll have to wait for one to come out for version 1.21 (haven't found one yet)...
