Yoshi (spoilers)

I didn't find this anywhere in a brief search... The trick of dumping Yoshi b4 leaving for Brynnlaw and picking him back up again upon returning. It would be way too bothersome to try this myself... Did they happen to fix that in the boxed set? I have the set with the bonus disks...I would be interested in doing this as I have changed him to a fighter and have played the game many times so it isn't spoiling it for me...
Thanks in advance...

I'm fairly certain that if you leave Yoshimo behind, he'll just automatically die whenever you meet back up with him. As far as I know, there isn't a trick to leaving him behind so you can use him after Spellhold and the Underdark, beyond editing some global variables that tell the game to kill him.

If you use ctrl+q on him before he dies after entering the place you left him you can then raise him again, that should work on any version of the game. However he doesn't transfer into ToB, and doesn't have any dialogue after the Asylum, so not really worth the effort.

Thanks. I had read somewhere that if you pause and force conversation with him upon entering Copper Coronet it overrides his death. Guess not....

If you DON'T have any fixpatches then "force speak" works, if you have any patches more often than not the game kills Yoshimo as is part of the story.
Yoshimo is a pretty ordinary character though, why would you want to keep him anyway?
It is possible to just create a bounty hunter and play through with them instead.

Well for one he's far from ordinary character if you manage to find out his story.
I only went through the exploit to get him back twice. The first time was to see what happened if you could, and also because my PC was Miss Nice gal who beieved in rdemtion. Didn't work out of course as I'v mentioned.
The second time my PC was the opposite, a nasty, evil, vidictive SOB who just wanted the pleasure of killing Yoshi himself, several times.
