Someone correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't played with most of the strongholds, just read about them.
The Thieves Stronghold will net a regular income, but I believe that you will have to give most of your profits to a higher guild.
The Bard Stronghold does allow you so sell off the playhouse after you have done your production. It may produce a profit depending on how much you spent on the play, but if anything its a one time thing.

The cleric stronghold then? what will that give? All i know is that you can get the mce of disruption +2 if you know how, but..
Does the cleric stronghold count like a "real" stronghold anyway?

Paladin "stronghold" is similar to the cleric.... I believe you get your own room. You also get a nice set of armour though.

The thief guild will give some income depending on how you run the guild - but you'll have to pay some money to the mother guild.
The cleric stronghold gives some items when completing stronghold quests - but nothing after that. And BTW the Mace of distuption has nothing to do with the cleric stronghold.
It can be upgraded by Cromwell while doing a quest for the temple that anybody can get - not just a cleric.
After what I can remember the Paladin stronghold gives nothing more that items when completing quests. No steady income after that.
I've not tried the playhouse so I don't know about that.

What else, save honor? How about experience? And there are some nice quests or items attached to maintaining some strongholds, as well.
