hi guys...


i am running the game on an intel mac (windows vista.. ewp) with 3 gig ram dual core 2. summink)

i finished icewind dale recently.. now i want to play HOW with my old characters... a few problems that are driving me mad...

well.. on my mac.. after installing HOW - when i try to start a new game in the new HOW it asks me for the cd.. it wont accept it though

now... lol the problems dont end.

i installed the game on my laptop (has the same specs but is a normal PC Windows laptop (vista)

then i had problems finding my chars.. cos of the way they get named.. in any case i did manage to find 2 of my characters and successfully import them to the game on my laptop.. the others i couldnt find interestingly.. since i have been sending files here and there i have noticed some real bugginess - i tried to empty my characters folder.. then reexport thinking the chars would then show up obvious.. but my chars folder stays empty!!! ALso i read on this forum that the save game files are in the folder mpsave - i dont seem to even have this folder...

im confused and would like to play on with my chars also i cant seem to import them into baldur's gate - this should be possible right?? the game crashes when i try to import


- note i just patched HOW and it has not helped.. i only feel halfway safe cos i can still load the last saved game from IWD before i mashed up poquelin.. so hopefully all isnt lost.. HELP!!!

You can't import chars from IWD to BG I think.

As for your chars in IWD: HoW: if all else fails, you can create new ones then hack 'em with some editor to the exact parameters that your original chars had, if you don't mind it. Unfortunately, I do not know of any exact editors (I've never used them in IWD), but I'm sure there are plenty, just try to websearch

maybe i can use this for baldurs gate aswell... i hate starting off with a crappy magic missile etc.. after already done the whole training up..
