I usually correct something in my posts. But more often I seem to just not be able to do it in under the provisional minute or so and I get the extra line beneath my post saying I edited it. Can we all maybe get a little bit more time? Or just me alone? :p

I'm fine with the current setup. Is it really that necessary to change it?

Agreeing with Des. For me it's not big deal if there is a line at the bottom of the post that I have edited my post, so I don't see any reason to change it.

Actually, I'm with Tricky. I'm a compulsive editor, and it's always a race against the clock to see if I can avoid that annoying little line :D

An extra few minutes would be nice ;)

Yeah, I'm with Tricky and DW. I frequently come back and edit my posts. Multiple times. Doesn't bother me that the edit shows on the bottom, though. :)

I think that every post should say it has been edited even if it has not :)

Well, that's easy for you to say. You have no pride. :(

At the moment, you get two minutes to avoid the "edited by" line. I'm hesitant to increase that time, as it only opens the door further for major edits after a post has already been read by (potentially) lots of people. Minor spelling and grammar mistakes are pretty easy to correct during the two-minute allotment, and I think it's only fair for the community to be notified if the poster has made any significant edits beyond that (for the sake of debates or whatever).

Is there a better argument than "what about my pride?" for increasing the time limit? :)

Um, I'll kill this carrot if you don't do so? :)

Actually, I hate carrots, always have. So I'll probably kill it anyway.

But if you don't increase the time limit, I'll make it feel the pain.

You don't have to Fable, it's already quite visceral. I just can't be serious about anything I say even when I'm making a point. Being of solemn mind and conviction is anathema to my state of being.

No, but I get you. I suppose most forums work like that. I have never seen a misunderstanding or argument arise because someone decided to change his post shortly after writing it though. The common sense here should be that I only need to check my writings before I hit submit. I do, and I swear it is never enough. It is something I seriously just can't stand.
