Lycanthrope Affliction - Don't know what I'm doing

Title kind of says it all. I am a Lycanthrope Werewolf now, thanks to my DM. I was forced from a rather fun, Self-Righteous Cleric/Rogue/Robinhood to a chaotic evil-no spells having-Cleric/Rogue/Lycanthrope.

I have no perfect idea how to mod my character sheet now that I'm afflicted and have been trying for over an hour to try to figure it out. I'm a chick and I usually just ask the guys to do this stuff that I consider to be not-as-much-fun-as-roleplaying-and-killing-stuff. I know how wrong that is. I am paying for it now. :o

First I'll give you my regular stats and then I'll ask you wonderful D&D experts if you can confirm some of my tentative temporary changes to my stuff. Please God help me, there's parts of the PHB that I've always chosen to ignore and it's time I made the leap. I'm playing with guys now that expect me to ...know stuff. Especially since I've been playing for a decade. So here's my effort.

Look forward to specific, probably stupid, questions below all these numbers.

+4 Survival in all forms?

Feats: Improved Init, Iron Will, Stealthy, Track, Weapon Focus (bite)

And all the attacks that are listed I have.

The big questions I have are:

1. Do I modify my Ability score to match the Ability Modifiers that the MM provides? And does that score only apply in wolf/hybrid form?

2. Do I roll the extra HD for my HPs with my DM for my wolf/hybrid form only? What dice? The MM explained this like I should already know-which I should, but whatev-and it explained a way to alter the HD they provide using my consititution mod...but they GAVE me my stupid CON AM so why the hell would I have to alter it?

3. I'm supposed to go up in level. +2 for afflicted. Does this mean I'm a Level 10 Cleric/Rogue/Lycan until I'm cured? OR Does the level adjust only count when I'm in form? Also I'm supposed to get extra skpnts for going up in level. Is my new rank max 13 now?

4. And I quote from the MM: "Afflicted lycanthrope: damage reduction 5/silver (in animal or hybrid form only)" <===huh? I know this means something. I'm absolutely sure of it. Please help.

5. Another quote: "Racial Feats: Add the animal's Hit Dice to the base character's own Hit Dice to determine how many feats the character has." <===I swear they told me that they altered the 'animal's' hit dice to begin with which I was supposed to alter to fit my base creature.

6. It says that I get more feats based on the level adjustments, and any extra due to the gift of feats at acheiving lycanthropy can be considered bonuses. To clarify: They gave me five feats when I got afflicted. If I go up a couple levels I can't see how I could possibly attain more than five feats. Why would they mention that if it doesn't seem possible? Why didn't they just say: "The extra feats are considered bonuses." and not even say that you're due the extra feats from gaining the levels?

These are my questions, and all of the information I have learned from reading the accursed MM. If it seems I left something out, please let me know. I may not know that there's something else.

I really desperately need your help so I can start to be a competant player instead of a filthy leach on the campaign. I swear I know some stuff, but my ignorance of the number game has messed me up in this turn of events.

Thanks in Advance,
Your sniveling servant,

Yes and Yes.
Base it off the animal, depending on what your DM allows either roll it or use average (half the hit dice plus .5, I.E. a ten sided hit dice is 5.5). You do gain those hit dice immediately though.

Dice used are of the animal type, if you're a boar lycanthrope you use the number and type of hit dice that a boar has.

Basically the constitution thing is for which forms you're in. Lets say your form has a constitution bonus, like the werebear. You gain the hit dice even in human form, but ONLY in hybrid and werebear form do you gain the constitution bonus.

The way to calculate that is once you assume hybrid or were-form, you gain a new constitution and that'll increase your hit points by how much of a con increase it is. In simpler terms, if you have a total of ten hit dice from class and lycanthrope, and your lycanthrope form gives you a +4 constitution (I.E. a plus 2 bonus), that's 20 more hit points.

Add that to both your min and max. So if you're min and max is 25/50, it becomes 45/70.
No, level adjustments are passively made. You are effectively as powerful as a 10th level character, but you still may only be 8th. You use the experience of a 10th level character to get to effective level 11 and actual level 9.

However, keep in mind that a Level adjustment and Racial Hit dice are two SEPARATE things. Meaning if you have 4 extra hit dice and a level adjustment of +2, that's 6 extra levels.

5th level cleric with that becomes 5th level cleric/4th level animal with an effective level of 11.
4. And I quote from the MM: "Afflicted lycanthrope: damage reduction 5/silver (in animal or hybrid form only)" <===huh? I know this means something. I'm absolutely sure of it. Please help.
In hybrid of were form, you gain DR 5/silver. That means that you take 5 less damage from any weapon that is NOT silver. If it is silver, then it negates the DR.
"Racial Feats: Add the animal's Hit Dice to the base character's own Hit Dice to determine how many feats the character has."
When you gain hit dice of any kind, you can also gain feats. If you were 7th level and this bumped you to 9th, for instance, you would gain a feat for being 9th level.

This is only for hit dice and racial hit dice though, Level adjustments are never considered for feats.
6. It says that I get more feats based on the level adjustments
Sorry, but no it doesn't. I'm reading the entry right now and it's not there. Feats only apply to Racial hit dice or class levels.

Lastly, you shouldn't lose any of your spells. A were creature has a preferred alignment, that is not an ACTUAL alignment, meaning you do not lose anything from your previous levels.

There is the chance that you can go berserk in were form, but even then your spells are not lost.

It even opens you up to a new feat, Natural Spell, which allows you to cast spells in a shapechanged form (barring DM's permission).

Now, heres the fun part, if you really want to keep with the Lycan part, you can use the rules in the PHB2 to help re-train feats that you have to help you make better use of your new abilities.

Why would he need to retrain anything?

Weapon focus, or any combat feats. With Natural spell and a con bonus, he/she would be able to swap out combat casting if she took it, for something alil more practical, like Practiced Spellcasting. To help with the HD bit.

Your never allowed to swap out feats for other feats once you take one, not unless your DM house rules it. Otherwise, there's no situation that allows this.

What about retraining feats with the rules in the PHB2?

Actually, PHBII back Demortis up. You can retrain feats, skill ranks, class features, and even whole class levels in certain cases. It's on p. 192 onward.
He doesn't qualify for Natural Spell, sadly. It requires Wildshape. It wouldn't be unreasonable to let your shapechanging from Lycanthropy qualify you for it. I would allow it as a DM.

They could also take Warshaper PrC. Lil combat bonus goes a long way at times. Besides, they'll know shes a werewolf, but what about a werewolf with a tentical(sp?)!?:speech: Seriously creepy right there...

Ah, well unless a book is specifically mentioned, I never include any set of rules not found in the original 3 core rulebooks or maybe the SRD.

Eh, it was mentioned. You might just have over looked it.

So, is there anything else we might beable to do to make this char "sing"?

Like you said, trade Stealthy, Iron Will, Track and Weapon Focus Bite for other feats. Power Attack, Divine Metamagic: Persist (Complete Divine), Quicken Spell, Extend Spell, Practised Spellcaster, to name a few, are good choices.

If you want to focus on the Rogue/Cleric, these Prestige Classes will help: Skullclan Hunter (Mini Handbook) or Blackflame Zealot (Evil alignment, but your DM might let you change that) both advance your spellcasting and give plenty skillpoints.
Focus on Cleric spells that enhance your meleepowers, like Divine Power, Righteous Might, Divine Favour, Shield of Fate, Greater Magic Weapon/Fang, Greater Magic Vestment.

While it doesn't directly say, Retraining feats only applies to feats that you have specifically selected, thus racial bonus feats from Lycanthrope such as Iron Will and Track are un-retrainable.

Fair enough. I didn't know they were bonus feats.
