Ok So I freed Red and Shorty and brought them home safely. I was given a choice on how to assist them defend the town from invading Super Mutants. I chose "repair" the robots option. The townfolk got all excited and told me the Robots are in the "junkyard". There are no robots though. I've searched the entire town, and there is nothing to be repaired. Is this a glitch, do I need to go somewhere else to find the Robots? Any help would be welcome.

Had the same problem, and what I gathered from numerous sources, it's bug. The only sad thing is that the "quest" doesn't continue if you have chose to fix the robots before you have actually done that. So, if you have earlier save close enough before the selection, load it and choose to just shoot the super mutants. The fight isn't hard anyway so you should be fine.

This worked for me playing the PC version. If you look at [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/fallout3/locations/bigtown.php"]this map[/url], the robots should be around #6.

Not sure if it has something to do with the fact that I'm playing the XBox version, but three separate tames I have tried the repairing option, and not once did the robots appear there. Or at least there was nothing interactable.

Each time the citizens of Big Town has gathered around the junkyard and they talk about the robots, so I'm sure that I have selected the correct option. Just doesn't work.

I had the same problem, on PC.. But i didn't really look that much.. I'm not the patient type..

I just loaded, and ended up doing the "I'll kill em' myself!" option.. I started out with the "I'll teach you about small guns!" But then Red died, and i didn't get my reward.. So i tried with the robots, but I couldn't find them anywhere.. Then i got mad, and went out all alone, and killed the muties myself.. That did hurt a bit, but i got my reward, and no one died. :laugh:

I've not tried repairing the robots but I have stumbled axcross a couple of defunct security robots around the back of big town. I dunno if they're just scenery or the ones you're looking for.

I normally just put down a couple of mines on the bridge then shoot the legs off any surviving mutants. Works fine...

As far as I know, this is a known bug where if you have the PC version (ie access to the in-game console) you can use the console commands to respawn the robot "corpses" and 'port them to you (ref swcarter's map on where you should be). No luck for console... you'd have to use one of the other options
