Hello.

I have amassed a collection of longswords for my dual welding character and was wondereing which was the best combination.

Here are the swords I have:

Holy Avenger
(Enhancement Bonus [+ 3], Enhancement Bonus vs. Alignment Group: Evil [+ 5], On Hit: Dispel Magic [DC=20] [Type: Divine], Damage Bonus vs. Alignment Group: Evil [2d4], Spell Resistance [24], Cast Spell: Protection from Evil [- Unlimited Uses])

The Sly Blade
(Enhancement Bonus [+ 3], Damage Bonus: Negative Energy [1d6], On Hit Cast Spell: Doom [Level 10], Cast Spell: Displacement (9) [3 Uses/Day])

Arn Kerym
(Damage Bonus: Electrical [1d6], Enhancement Bonus [+ 2], Keen)

Blessing of Daystar
(Damage Bonus vs. Alignment Group: Evil [1d6], Enhancement Bonus [+ 3], Enhancement Bonus vs. Racial Group: Undead [+ 5])

I currently am welding Arn Kerym in my main hand and the Holy Avenger in my off hand - is this the best combo?

I will also soon have the Silver Sword of Gith - which sword should I replace it with?

I think your right. Against Undead swap Daystar and the keen sword. Use the displacement sword when you need to cast displacement.

Edit: probably the holy sword's greater enhancement and greater damage against evil oponents (which are very numerous) means you should have it in your main hand. But its a toss up I guess. Keen is pretty nice property too.

I like duel wielding swords, also. I find the damage of the longsword a bit disappointing, compared to others, and the critical damage of all the swords a little disappointing too, since you can get a X3 with axes. Myself, I prefer katanas for the same damage as bastard swords...since really good bastard swords were sort of uncommon in the original NWN. For that reason, I'm curious about your topic, too. Monkey grip enabling one-handed use of 2H swords is rather nice, though.

I usually don't play a Paladin, but I took 3 levels of Paladin in NWN to compliment my Sorcery. I got the Holy Avenger...and was sort of disgusted at how weak it was in NWN. Is it any better in NWN2?

The most difficult Holy Avenger to get was in IWD HoW; If you don't know what I'm talking about, do a search here...it's a worthwhile read. But the best Holy Avenger was the Carsomyr from BGII. The history behind the Holy Avenger is that it was once just a plain old longsword, but through the valor of its original weilder, it became blessed. IMO, the least it should be is a +something weapon that casts dispel magic on the target of a successful hit. Dispel magic once per day is just blah. I never used it, and preferred the Daystar. Is the Sword Saint Legacy in NWN2?
