Hi everyone,
I'm new to this forum and I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself. I did a lot of role-playing in the eighties and nineties but stopped once I started working. A few years ago my stepson was introduced to D&D 3.5 and that rekindled my interest. For the past two years I have been writing The Third Kingdom Player's Handbook, an original fantasy rpg and setting I have devised. Now, after all this time, the playtest edition is almost done. It can be found at Third Kingdom Games - Home. Anyone who is interested is welcome to take a look, download, and maybe even print it out. The first five chapters are complete and the remaining chapters mostly done (just need some editing and fleshing out).
Quite simply, the game uses only ten-sided dice to resolve conflicts. It is not a "rules-lite" game, although I have tried to keep the mechanics as simple as possible and limit rolling as much as possible. So, for example, spell durations are not determined by a die roll, rather by the amount of energy put into a spell and the skill of the caster.

I would welcome any constructive comments.

Thanks,

Todd
