I was thinking that with this new release of The Darkest Day for BG2:SoA that a new forum for TDD would be useful. That way those in the SoA forum dont hafta hear about TDD stuff until they get it for themselves.

I agree with vinin. Also, maybe if we could get a few people who really fell up to it, we could add a TDD walthrough to the site.

good idea
would also help those people that want to talk about it / need help with it. since after a while it will get hard searching through the BG2 forums for the info.

I think those who created the game and coordinate the forums at their site will certainly disagree, actually... If this is going to happen, I reckon Buck Satan ask for Minto and Potencius' permission first. And somehow I doubt if they're happy with such a forum at GB...

Also a forum for Dark Side of the Sword Coast might not be a bad idea for the same reasons.

I know Minto and Potencius own TDD, but surely they don't own any discussion of the product? I don't know of any instance where a company refused to allow their product to be reviewed or discussed, citing ownership of the review or discussion process.

So.... does that mean we can haev a TDD/Dark side forum?

I see no reason why one couldn't be added. After all, as Fable said, no one owns discussion, just the product. As long as we don't sell the product, or try to claim it, we should be fine.

Sigh, just ask them out of decency then.
Just keep in mind you shouldn't expect they will come over to GB to check for bug reports and similar... that's what their own forums are for.

Maybe things are so autocratic over there that they EXPECT people to ask permission before discussing it.

If you want TDD discussion go to the site its up now althoguh the forums aren't fully completed.
I think its a waste of time as TDD is not owned by all the BG community.
You would get better suport at TeamBG. And Max is already creating a walkthrough.

Since TeamBG is not online let's make a TDD forum ourselves!
Since TeamBG forum is not online anymore it would be wonderful to gather all the people playing TDD in a new forum!

Umm... pray tell, what do you mean? How do you propose we make a TDD forum 'ourselves'?
Personally, I don't think there is enough interest in TDD across the boards to warrant a forum of its own - there are other mods out there which are played by more people than TDD (judging from the topics posted at the BG2 board)...
