Searched and I couldn't find anything about this one. I'm having trouble on Dantooine when you fix the droid, and the old mechanic comes over and calls you a jedi. For starters, I am a Jedi Guardian with Persuade of 21 (with bonus items), Charisma (13 with bonus items), and I have Dominate Mind.

The walkthrough I'm using says that the Force Persuade option should come up to convince him that you aren't a Jedi, but it doesn't. The only option is the normal persuade, and I fail everytime (although there is no "fail/succeed" in the response, the old man just runs off to tell everyone I'm a jedi).

I'm not even sure how important it is that I complete this, but any help would be appreciated.

do you have a lightsaber equipped on yourself or any of your companions? if so, you'll never succeed in persuading anyone you're not a jedi. I'm not sure if jedi robes have the same effect or not, but I'd recommend trying it without those on too

failing that, just avoid fixing the droid at all, or leave it until you're ready to leave

Do you have dominate mind or one of the mind control abilities? (Im too lazy right now to check what their names are, but it should be close to mind control or something) It'll get you Force persuade, aka "old jedi mind trick" making it much easier. I've persuaded many people with the mind control ability and a low persuade skill.

try unequipping any jedi robes, lightsabers, for all of your party members.
