HELP! Game crashes at Mister Burke?

Hi there,
For some reason the game crashes whenever I walk up to Mister Burke, right at the beginning of the game.
I've installed the latest patch, i've got the latest video card drivers, and my system is decent (dual core, 2GB+ ram, ATI X1900 video card, win XP).
Anybody know why this is, and how I could fix it?
