After I installed the game, I disabled the auto-save and never did a quick save. I was playing normally without even needing the patches. No loot bug, no crash no nothing.
Then the next day when I tried to play it again. On the initial load screen, at the part that says "initializing sector data..." it crashes back to the desktop.
Then I installed patch1 - then patch2 - and temple.dll mobious one. Still same problem.

Any ideas ?

First thing to do is uninstall and reinstall before applying the patches. Never again play without it patched. Very bad idea.

If this doesn't solve your problem, I am PMing you with something else you might try.

Oh by the way. I forgot to mention I use Windows Vista.
