Hmmmm, I'm trying to start playing these games again...wondering how to get copies of them. Do you have any electronic versions of these?

I just checked one of the newly recreated
Home of the Underdog sites, and found the manual for CotAB available for download. You might want to search that site for the others.

So is there a policy in regards to 'Abandoned' games? I know piracy is not encouraged, so is there a double standard I was not aware of?

The original poster is not looking for the games, they already own those so piracy isn't even relevant to this topic - all that they are seeking are the manuals that they have lost.

I think the SSI gold and silver box sets are also considered abandonware, at this point. The owners have expressed no interest in the titles.

Yeah, I found the game disks (but no manuals) in a pile of old stuff I was going through last week and I've since struck an urge to play them again. I only joined this forum today and am already very impressed with the degree of helpfulness demonstrated thus far. Thanks, everyone.
The problem is that in order to play some of these games you need the manuals and/or "wheels" to answer the "security questions" prior to starting the game.

Further proof that sometimes being so 'bullish' on things can lead to me making an ass of myself. I hope you enjoy your collection, and you probably should find the latest version of DOSBox in order to play them.

This place tends to have PDFs of all related documentation for old games, I found stuff on dozens of old RPGs here:
Pool of Radiance, :: DJ OldGames
Note that there are links to the other SSI games in the related links part.

Aww your forgot my favorite SSI game...
Boo! You forgot to post the original "Return to Hillsfar' white SSI box. I still got my copy of it. No, im not talking about the NES remake version, the original one was made for PC (IBM) type. They did make one for original NES, under another company. I am aware this is old topic and im opening it again, but i could not let this classic be forgotten..
i always used to laugh when i was riding the horse area's, because i always tripped over the logs..lol.
And to prove it is a SSI game, here is an image of it on Gamefaqs:
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/nes/ima ... l?box=3205
The white image is of the PC version, while the red one is for the NES. Strange though, as my box says "Return to Hillsfar" on it. Maybe they altered the name after awhile so both versions matched.
And here is the data that shows it's SSI style:
