I am playing on an Xbox 360 trying to complete the Gauntlet related quest Stendar's Mercy in the Knights of the Nine quest line. Areldur is not in the Chapel and won't appear despite other characters referring to him.

Can anyone help?

Have you tried exploring the living quarters? Other than that all I can suggest is going somewhere else for three days (so the cell respawns) and trying again. Or go back and talk to the ghosts at the Priory again.

I waited five days outside of town. No difference. I am very ticked. I had already tried your other suggestions and more. Any more ideas? I started another game to see if he was there and of course he was. I have no idea why this would happen. Areldur doesn't really get around. He appears in the chapel when Knights is plugged in and stays with the gauntlets until they are taken. What the hell?! My character is very high and a lot of other things have gone my way. I really don't want to start over. It seems the real challenge of this game is getting through it without being screwed by a bug.

Hopefully that helps! I thought that he might be dead, but I see that he is set to Essential, until he joins the faction.

Hm. So if you can't find him where he is meant to be, then it might be a clipping issue. Meaning he might be stuck behind a wall or under a floor, or above the ceiling, not roof.

Since you're playing on an X-Box 360, you can't use "TCL" to go looking for him and rescue him.
