I downloaded the v 1.4 patch onto my hard drive (a different hard drive to the one the game is installed on) and the language pack.

I double clicked on the patch (TWEE_upgrade.exe)

It said I had to register the Witcher so I assigned myself a user name and password which it accepted.

I entered in my product key when asked.

The I get the following message: "You have to be logged in to use this feature. Please enable cookies in internet explorer."

Mozilla is my default internet browser but I went into internet explorer 8 and put the security settings on their lowest level so all cookies are accepted.

I tried again and the same thing happened.

Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Have you tried setting Mozilla to accept cookies? It might just be a standard message that is coming up, but is actually trying to use your default browser.

You might also try to log into the official Witcher site, and setting it so that you're always logged in. Not sure if that would help anything, but its something you could try.
