Game won't start error with modem?

I keep getting error that tells me to delete phone modem. I' tried the patch but the patch was german and now the game says I've got the wrong disk! Is there any us patch, and does any of the patches cover the modem problem? Thanks I'd love to be able to start this game...

Well, that's an odd error. Drakensang doesn't have an on-line component, so it shouldn't be looking at your modem at all. There must be something else going on.
There isn't a U.S. patch.

Thanks for the reply, I got it running yesterday and spent the rest of the day playing!! Great game but loong sloow load times!! Yep the error stated that I had to get rid of ( couldn't initialize audio sub system due to a software modem).I had to disable some unused modem software .!? Most tech forums are either in German or they didn't translate the English ones very well.
