NWN2 Character Builder site launched!

Hey guys,
I've just launched a NWN2 Character Builder website over at
nwn2db.com. It lets you
build a character from scratch, including classes, feats, abilities (etc etc) and
share your builds with others. You can even copy existing builds and customise them.
There's also an extensive knowledge base and armory with info on all in-game armor, weapons and items.
The website's currently in the beta stage and there's still lots of features that I'd like to add or extend upon, but it's stable and ready for people to start building. If you'd like to check out what I have planned for future expansions, head over to my
development blog.
If you've got any ideas or feedback (or bug reports) you can use the feedback form on the site (or reply to this post of course). I'm really interested in seeing what everyone thinks of the workflow.
Thanks!
Lancerlot.

Absolutely awesome work.
Thanks for that.
My only problem so far is selecting feats. The bottom feats are a bit hard to scroll down to. I'm running FF 3 @ 1280x800. Making the window that pops up for selecting feats dragable would fix this.

Same problem with Opera and 1280*800 resolution.
Otherwise, very good work. Thumbs up

Thanks for reporting that guys.
I've changed it to be correctly vertically centered and made it slightly shorter to fit on the smaller screens.
I originally had it as a draggable window but because of the transparency over a complex table, it dragged sluggishly.
Since this is changed in JavaScript, the browser may have cached the js file so if it doesn't work, refresh the page manually or clear your cache to get the new version. Remember to save your build before refreshing.
Thanks,
Lancerlot.

With Opera, the problem still occurs. The feat selection box is just place too low for good access. See the picture I attached. I cleared my cache, as well as manually refreshed the site, still no work.
Tried the site also with Internet Explorer v. 7.0, and there it works, though the frame fits barely.

I have had quite a number of people mention problems with the feat selection frame not correctly fitting in the browser window so I have reverted my last update and instead made the frame much smaller so it should now hopefully show correctly in all resolutions.
I will come up with a more permanent solution for this, but for now it should allow people to continue using the system.
Thanks,
Lancerlot.

As for ideas: how about combining it with Kaedrin's PrC pack, so that you can build character with the extra tons of options that offers?

You're now the fourth person to request this pack
I can definitely add Kaerdrin's pack into the system (provided they give me permission) but it will definitely be something for the (hopefully near) future - there are still a lot of other more pressing issues to address first.
But thanks for the feedback. I will keep the idea on the todo list.

The scrolling problem is fixed now, thankies!
Another small issue is that my a warlock doesn't seem to be able to pick spell penetration as a feat, though this does help their invocations iirc.
Although this deviates from how NWN 2 handles it; I'd recommend having feats like weapon/skill focus represented by only 1 feat in the list, prompting a weapon choice when selected. It really helps with the cluttering. I think NWN1 used this system, but don't quote me on that.

Nice!
But where are the skills (for the build)?

I second the skills.
Also, when I try to select one of the options like "Replace next x levels with yyy", I can't change "yyy", it's always the class which I already have selected, which makes the option quite pointless. This is the case both "by overwriting" and "by pushing". Maybe I understood it wrong?

I had this problem as well.
(Though not necessary): I'd also like to be able to *read* ALL the classes (like you can at each level-up in-game). It allows you to keep checking the requirements for prestige classes.
(Though not necessary): Also consider the option for "storing" multi-party builds for games like SOZ.
On the topic of skills:
Without the skill listing the builds may be nearly useless. (..this is even more true with newer multi-party modules based on SOZ's additives.)
Consider that many Prestige classes require a certain skill level before selecting that class. Epic spell/feats also require certain amounts of Spellcraft before you can choose them. A few other Epic feats also require certain skill levels before selection can occur.
Until this gets changed I unfortunately will not be using it/posting builds there.
Still, I think it's well "on its way" to becoming a fabulous resource!

Great work so far. Both thumbs up! It looks brilliant and so far I haven't come across any bugs, except that the builder doesnt seem to save my builds. Maybe I do something wrong, but after giving the build a name via the saving button the build doesnt appear within the section "My Builds"
I also second the Skills. So far I'm just playing through OC, but once I've got SoZ I'd like to plan my party with this build, though it will be difficult to do so without a Skill Selection Screen.

I'd just like to note that skills are now accounted for.
Because of this I've now started using the site for builds.
