Hjollder. What's going on here? *Spoilers*

After arriving in Kuldahar and exploring the area, I entered this little house and inside was a man named Hjollde. After talking to him and offering to join him, he tells me I need to come back when I'm more experienced.
What's this all about?
How much experience?
If someone can let me know what's going on with this, without any major spoilers I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Sonny

Hjollder serves as a transition to the Heart of Winter expansion, which can prove difficult for a lower level party.
I can't remember for sure, but I think you need to be somewhere around ten or fifteen to join him. Keep in mind that once you do, you won't be able to return to Kuldahar for some time.

Well that explains that. My party is only lv2/3. THANKS
Any thoughts on rather it's best to finish IWD before doing HOW?
If you go to do HOW with a higher party, can you return to finish IWD?
Also is there any where in IWD to build up your party exp.(like a UnderSigil)?
Thanks again

For entering HoW via Hjollder all party members must be at least 9 levels (multiclass levels are added for this).
When you enter HoW from Kuldahar you'll return there when you've finished the HoW quest, you can even travel from HoW to Kuldahar at certain times during the game
I recommend finishing normal IWD first and exporting the characters to start HoW afterwards.
There are many ways to build up XP, early on trying to rest in the Vale of Shadows and getting interrupted by Yetis is the fastest one, you can also reenter the southeastern Tomb in the VoS and kill the respawns.
Later you'll find even faster ways for XP farming, but it's not necessary at all. The game is balanced for playing without XP farming.

Think that's what I'll do. I have enough trouble keeping track of what's going on in one game:laugh:

Personally, I always go to HoW just before the end battle of IWD.

If you are playing with out any walkthroughs, will you know when you reach that point? And how will that effect TotL, which I also have loaded.
Just trying to make things as simple as possible. Brain cells not as sharpe as they used to be.
Thanks

I'd say you can tell when the final showdown approaches...
TotLM is only accessible from within HoW. Same deal, an NPC offers transportation to that "section".

I don't know if I've passed the point where I can go do HOW and return to finish IWD and if not I'm not sure what I want to do at this point.
I'm at the point where I'm waiting for Nym to enchant the shield that Dirty Lew made for me.
Also I purchased some birds and squirrels and I don't know what to do with them. Just seems like I've missed something or forgot something.
Also if I decided to finish IWD and import my characters, will they still have all the weapons, armor and items?
Thanks

Container (like bag of holding) content won't be exported, but everything else will, including the items you'll find later in the game.
As long as you can return to Kuldahar you can go to Hjollder and start HoW.
Birds and squirrels only yield some XP if brought to the right place (you've already visited it in Chapter3), nothing important.

You can bring the Birds & Squirrels & Purified Water to:
The Arboretum in one of the towers of the Severed Hand.

Thanks, can't believe I missed that.
kmonster, said that items in containers like bags of holding won't be exported. Does that also include scroll cases and potion bags?

I believe so. Put them outside the container and you should be fine.
