I assume you're talking about the encounter at the end of fable, but before TLC?

It helps to have a maxed out character obviously, grind for it if you can be bothered. Mana shield will help you get a high multiplier and lots of xp.

There isn't much to say, Jack be very hard to hit, but I've had good results using charged up fireballs and just avoiding most of his attacks. It gets harder if you're pure melee, but even then it's doable. Just wait for him to sit still. Do you have plenty of potions?

I found multiple shot (is that the correct name? lol) to be very useful too. Just charge up a powerful range weapon for a sufficient duration and the resulting hit will be catastrophic for Jack.

^_^

When you fight Jack for the first time in TLC its wise to use a strong bow and a few spells to land some damage from time to time. Mainly you have to avoid melee combat with him and his minions and use the bow and magic on him, very simple ^_^.

^ what he said. Level up those bow skills, get a good one and wreak havoc there. Melee isn't gonna help you a lot, if I remember correctly. The first time I had played this my character was sort of melee-only and I felt like the fight was impossible, so second-time round I made it far more balanced and the fight was easy as hell.

It seemed to me as well, took me 30-40 minutes to beat him or more, now it should take 5 minutes :D . Melee based chars aren't always the best solution, although when you fight him the second time melee will save your ass :D saved mine.

The important thing to remember is that there's a lot of help in the magic skills as well. There's some spells that will make a melee character a completely broken overpowered destruction machine.

the easiest way i found is to target him and keep moving left or right and every time he goes to hit me use the block to dodge move while constantly trying to stick a few arrows in him eventually he will start up with the minions again and stop following u then i just make a circle dodging behind the rocks when he atks still tryin ta shoot him i almost never take any damage so yea if it helps anyone

In my experience the easies way is Slow Time + Divine Fury, hiding in meantimes behind those stones. Most of problem is to get rid from his spawns.

Based on my experience, divine fury wasnt the best spell in the game, damage wise. Not only is it channeling, the damage is not as much as it should be for an ultimate spell. Ive found that a powerful bow combined with multiple shot does the trick much better on singular powerful enemies. But one thing which divine fury is excellent at is accruing a high combat multiplier. Becos of its huge aoe and the aforementioned channeling, it has the upperhand over multi shot.

You do not need most powerful, you need just enough. :) Not that you have to save power, do you?
First, an adversary can do nothing while under Divine Fury save to convulse under hits and lose life power, Jack not an exception.
Second - have you tried Enflame with following DF? Nothing is able to hit after Enflame until the subject has got up on his legs - except Divine Fury (and an opponent is still incapable to perform anything while Furu is active). The combo Enflame+Divine Fury, IMHO, is just deadly - just because an adversary cannot perform anything for most of the time. First spell throws enemies on the ground and makes unable do do anything, the other is alone in my knowledge able to hit an enflamed enemy and makes the subject unable to do anything as well.
Not to mention that H2H units coming in the range of Fury immediately become a target for active DF spell and so become incapable to perform any more action for the duration of the spell.
I guess that the Wrath might behave in similar way since I've heard it's the same as DF with just an alignment shift and different animation; I haven't tested that altogether - it's really hard to stay evil in this game without irrational and unmotivated actions.

This is what I do to fight him...

The first time you fight him:
I always put on Physical Shield to start, that way you won't get knocked down. When he's behind the energy barrier and the minions attack you, as well as after he emerges from the barrier, I use Berserk. Every regular hit you deal with Berserk is equal to a flourish, which is unblockable (Jack will block everything except a flourish and rush away,) so just keep hitting Jack like that and he'll rise up in the air after half a dozen hits.

Once he's up in the air, draw your bow (I always have Skorm's Bow,) put on Slow Time and Multi Arrow (by this time I have both maxed out) and with a full draw, it only takes 2 hits to kill him. With Slow Time on, his devastating attack won't drain your mana as fast, I don't even bother getting behind one of the stones, I just use will potions to replenish my mana. These combined techniques make him one of the easiest bosses in the game, he really doesn't stand a chance :D

The second time you fight him (TLC):
It is a bit trickier to fight Jack as a dragon. Sometimes I don't know whether it is easier to use Physical Shield or not since a couple of Jack's attacks drain ALL of your mana in one hit, like when he sprays flames at you and you can't dodge them in time, or when he's on the ground and he chomps at you. Usually I just have it on and keep refilling my mana with plenty of will potions.

But when he's on the ground, definitely put on Slow Time. You can hack and slash at his head with a strong melee weapon, probably with Berserk on, or use your bow with Multi Arrow on. If you're quick when he's hovering near you, you could get a shot in with your bow, but I'd concentrate more on avoiding his particularly devastating attacks and fighting the other enemies that pop up.

The ease or difficulty of the fight is pretty random, it depends on how many times he lands on the ground. I've had the fight last less than a few minutes because Jack decided to land a lot (you really only need him to land twice to beat him.) However, I've had fights last almost 10 minutes because Jack did nothing but fly over and attack before he decided to land again. But by the very end of the game, you should be maxed out and well-stocked, so this is really only an annoyance and Jack's defeat is inevitable, so just hang in there.
