SoA DVD not compatable with ToB CD

I recently purchased SoA on DVD, having lost my discs in the mid 2000's. When I install ToB however it asks me to insert disc 2 of SoA, and won't recognise the DVD copy. Is there a patch that fixes this? I would like to play the two games without having to uninstall one to do it.
