Graphic issues with KOTOR in vista

Post by LilNyu »

Ok, well first hello everybody I'm new in the forum :)

I hope you could help me, I just installed KOTOR a few days ago and it runs perfectlly... well... almost because there is a problem, it happens before but it doesn't affect my gaming like this time

http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/627/kotor.jpg

here's what I'm talking about, I don't know if theres a thread about this issue because I don't know how to call it... but well, the problem is that those lines you see appear in Taris Undercity (Outcast village only) but I just don't care, then they appear in the Jedi Council Chamber (only when i walk the middle of the room) but nothing happens so i tought i could live with them, but when I go out the Jedi Temple to Dantooine those lines got even wrost, the sky is filled with them, and the game stars slowing down and suddenly... it crashes!

Vista message ""An error has ocured with KOTOR blablabla"

How can I get rid of those lines? anybody knows? Plz! I can't play cuz it keeps happening over and over again...

What graphical settings do you play it on?

P.S. Welcome to the forums ;)

Hi! thanks for answering (and the welcoming ^^)

Well my graphic settings are the next

Graphic Texture - High
No Anti-alising*
Anisotropy - Off
Frame Buffer Effect* - Unselected
Soft Shadows* - Unselected
V-Sync - Unselected

The ones with the (*) can't be selected, that's the way they are and I can't change those values (I don't know why :( )

And the configuration in the SWKotOR Configuration Setting are:

Graphic

Resolution 800x600
Refresh Rate - 60 (Only 60 there is no other number avaliable)
Texture Pack - High
V-Sync - Unmarked

Troubleshooting Options

Disable Sounds - Unmarked
Force Software Sound - Unmarked
Disable Movies - Unmarked

My Graphic Card comes with my laptop... Intel Xtreme Graphics sux >.< hehe anyway, any solution to this? I wanna play! it's kindof adictive this game :p

Try enabling v-sync. That helped a friend of mine clear up similar graphical issues in his game.

Well, i dunno how much more can be done to fix ur game tbh. If you haven't done so already, try patching it to the latest version. Also try checking ur video drivers and get them updated too.
