Castle: Stuck between orcs ?

i can't seem to defeat the orcs holding the messenger, or the (more) orcs to the south, thru the tunnel ? thanks
I don't remember the battles with the orcs being all that difficult. Have you been upgrading your equipment? Have you been increasing your weapon skills? Is everyone in your party using Offensive or Defensive Combat? Do you have someone who can cast spells to heal you and buff you up? Do you have healing potions (even oneberry juice)?
