Dual Weapons Level

So I read on this site that:
"There is no reason to take light or medium dual weapons part level 1. "
Is this still true? I'm running the CE (the one that comes pre-packed with Gothic3 if it matters). It says that you get Adv Strikes at level 5, but I can still do an Adv strike with 5 Medium Weapons and only 1 Light Dual. Also, I haven't really seen any abnormal penalties for light weapons so far.
So should I just leave DLW and DMW (once I get it) at 1?
