Level Cap

I've just read that Levels are capped to 10. I have to say it seems like a pretty low cap.
I usually play games pretty thoroughly ; I'm not exactly a 100% completion kinda guy, let's say a solid 80%.
I am afraid of hitting that cap too quickly at some point in the game, and the idea of seeing my characters stop gaining xp and additional skills even though they keep killing everything in their path and complete all the quests given to them does not amuse me, to say the least.
I know about the Co8 mod, but it seems like a bit of a hassle, and, more importantly, do I have to start yet another new game?
What is the simplest (if any) way to keep my actual characters AND get rid of that awful, awful cap?

Search and install the Circle of Eight mod.

It's actually an extremely appropriate cap, nowhere near awful.

Temple of Elemental Evil is based off the original D&D adventure, and for the most part it stays true to the original written adventure for 3rd edition D&D.

Circle of the Eight only increases the cap to 20, which is the standard cap for most any regular D&D adventure.

You won't find a mod for this that increases it to 99 or something like most Action RPG's, it's not the way the game is played.

I downloaded and installed the Co8 mod, I'll see how it goes.

A Level 20 cap seems absolutely appropriate to me, my feeling is I'll get to Level 12-13 or something, but still just the possibility to attain those 2 or 3 extra Levels changes the whole picture for me. I don't grind, so Level 99 or 50 or 25 would've been overkill anyway.

Now that I've been through it, I feel pretty positive about this mod.

Thanks for the answers.

I took out that level cap and was, I think, 16 when I fought the last boss and it was still hard as hell for me :P

The co8 mod made things harder, mostly by improving AI and making enemies use spells a whole lot better. Casters usually have 2-3 major buffs pre-cast, etc.

But in the original version level 10 was plenty to beat the game. In the co8 mod level 10 would make things pretty darn tough. :mischief:
