How do I apply stealth and swap the dragon eggs?

I always just take them and go jihad on the whole city....

LOL, I actually run through the whole process but then once its over I kill every drow in the city before leaving.

As far as getting the eggs the easiest way is potions of invisability or staff of the magi.

You can use invisibility potions, rings, spells etc., but why bother? One of the logic flaws in the game is that the Matron Mother never finds it at all suspicious that her guards are lying dead at the entrance to her vault, and all her golems have been destroyed! Ah well, I guess she assumes they all spontaneously combusted or something, obviously nothing underhanded could possibly happen in such an orderly and well behaved society as a Drow city?

Even if you go invisibly again right away the Gollums and the guards go red, I guess they never tell Mother Matron that some invisible person came in and swapped out the eggs, LOL.

If you want to roleplay it out right, there's always ways.

You could charm the two guards right by the entrance, use invis (or not) move in and take the eggs, if you use the next potion/item/whatever of invis quick enough after grabbing the eggs you can retreat without the golems giving chase (they may still turn red...but the matron mother does not see red circles - or any colour circles - underneath cratures).

When the matron mother comes you can imagine the charm has worn off (it may well have by now anyways, in actuality) and sees they have no complaints...and the golems inside are unmoved, and the eggs are where they were left.

Just one way.

Edit: I'm obviously thinking of charm as some sort of 'men in black' style memory wipe capable feature; you tell the guards they will remember nothing, including the being charmed...or maybe you could cast a feeblemind spell thus dumbing them down to near amnesiac status...whatever suits you and sounds plausible to you. Just use your imagination.

Cast sanctuary and just walk by everyone - open the door - pick up the eggs and leave (also while wearing boots of speed) and don't forget to close the door on the way out.
