Assorted questions (some spoilers):

I'm in Chapter 3, running around doing stuff before heading off to rescue Imoen.

I'm trying not to get too spoiled, but I have picked up some spoiling along the way.

I've got some strategic questions and a couple quest specific questions.

1) I just got a new proficiency for Keldorn. Right now he's 2x crossbow and 2-hand sword and 1x bastard sword. I'm thinking to add 1x in Halberd (I have a good one plus part of a 2nd) and make him all about two hand weapons. Good idea? Better idea?

2) Got a new proficiency for Yoshi (wow he levels up quick). I can't go past 1x in anything, he's usually ranged attack, so I'm thinking Crossbow so that I can use up some of this huge stack of Bolts of Lightning. Better idea?

3) I got spoiled about a badass weapon inside the guarded compound in the Temple District. I'd like to get it, but I have not gotten a quest yet. If there is a quest at all, I'd kind of like to wait for it. Is there a quest? If so can you get it in Chapter 3?

4) There is wicked stuff going on in the back of the Copper Coronet. Do I get a quest to clean that up, or should I just go take care of it? (I already did the slaver's houseboat without realizing that's what I was doing.)

Ok 1) and 2) depends on the rest of your party. Waht is your PC?

3): There is no Quest for the guarded compunt. Just walk inside and see what awaits you.

4). Dont understand exactly. Did you do all the quests in the copper coronet? What is the "back"?

1) I usually give Keldorn a longsword as a backup, but after you get a certain two-handed sword, you'll never have him use anything else. In the meantime, Halbards aren't a bad idea, though you would do well to give him some proficiencies in two-handed style to give him a better critical chance.

2) Yoshimo is good with any single handed weapon or ranged weapons. I usually had him use a bow, but if you give him a crossbow proficiency, he'll use that well too.

3) There's no quest, just an encounter that'll net you some good items. Be warned that it's not the easiest battle, though.

4) There's no direct quest that will lead you there, but you'll get one if explore a bit too much into the back rooms of the CC.

Thanks guys.

So far I've always figured something out in tough battles. We'll see what I can do with the guarded compound. If it's still beyond me, I'll come back later. I'm starting to drag out Chapter 3 as it is.

In an unsaved game I have antagonized the back room guards at the Coronet. I didn't want to mess up interactions with Bernard & Lethitan (sp) so I backed off from that until I got a quest. I'll go ahead and let the chips fall wherever. :)

It's always worthwhile giving Keldorn a second star in Two-Handed Weapon style if you haven't already.

In SOA Paladins only need 4 proficiency points two in THS and two in THWS the rest are wasted. ;)

Paladins are limited to two proficiency slots per weapon aren't they?

Yes, they are. Unless you use an editor, or the BG2 Tweak mod to change that.

So the BG2 Tweak mod should really be called the BG2 Cheat mod? Is that the G3 Tweak you're referring to Fable? I don't recall being able to add more than two slots when using it. Maybe it's an option I didn't notice, or opted not to use.

No, I'm remembering something else. While G3 Tweaks has an option allowing all classes to gain the maximum number of points in different weapon styles, it doesn't affect weapon proficiencies.
