That wasn't a bad list. Better than the Empire one a couple of months ago (ie. Titanic didn't make the top 50

). But yeah, I don't care how many polls they do, I don't think I will ever be convinced that Star Wars is the best film ever

What did you think Grunty, not enough war films?
@Sleep so do you prefer Grunty to slip things
to you?

Too much information...
They had some interesting interviews on the top 100 films programme too. I conclude that William Friedkin is a nutcase (which is what I'd heard anyway)

@Mr Sleep: speed?
I only caught the top 30 odd. OK I guess, very subjective, like "what are the top 100 films as voted on by a bunch of 20-30 something guys".
Yeah, not enough war movies. And how can something like Jaws be better than Lawrence of Arabia? I'm not griping, as I said its very subjective. Also, people vote for things fresh in their mind - Gladiator? OK, its cool but not number 8 or whatever! That's like saying Robbie Williams is the millenium's best lyricist, 'cos he's freshest in people's minds!!!
OMG, I've turned into an old fart!
Not many comedies either?

I only watched a bit now and again, i didn't exactly watch it all
Which comedies would you like to have seen?
@Georgi i was going to say i lost the point, but then i thought better of it

Yeah, polls like that always are subjective. I have to say, I was pretty surprised to see Gladiator that high up. (I saw the whole thing, both nights

) Good point, there wasn't much comedy... I guess that kind of thing doesn't stick in people's minds as great film-making. With the exception of Some Like It Hot, which was what, 5?
So are you going to see Apocalypse Now Redux?

This is why I didn't finish my reading for my seminar today
The entire list is available on the Channel 4 website or at least it should be, but currently isn't, and will be later...

Ta fable.
Georgi, I have Redux on DVD.
Would have seen it at the cinema if it weren't for a particular crime against humanity.
Might go and see it at the cinema here though, just for the "big screen" feel.
