Empire Earth?

Is Empire Earth any good? I have heard lots of good things about it, but I'm worried about that big sign that sais Microsoft on it... :)
I'm into strategy games, but this just seems too much like Age of Empires (which I hate with all my heart ;) )... So if any of you have played it, what do you think? Is it worth the money?

I found it kinda dull, but if you enjoy Age of Empires style games, you'd probably like it: just more of the same.

That's bad... :( . As I said I don't like the AoE serries. I thought this would be different, since I thought that fighting in the present and future as well as in the past might make the game a bit more... different.

Any other views out there?

It uses the original AoE engine, and the developer is the same guy who first created that engine. I'd suggest that if you don't like AoE, you almost certainly won't like Empire Earth.

Fable you found it dull. Why don't you create your own, scenerios or campaines. I like making them in my favor, volince it so great. I found it more challanging then the others.

You probably used the cheat codes anyhow. :p

Cheat codes? You yellow cad. :p I'd as soon go to a Dubbyah rally as use cheat codes.

No, I'm just lazy. :D I have no time or interest in developing missions--at least, not until NWN comes out. I'd rather play games like Europa Universalis II, where you have to juggle all sorts of treaties and economic stuff to rule the universe. ;)

I loved AoE 1 + AoE 2, but haven't tried Empire Earth.
Currently locked deep into Civ3, so I guess I won't get to play EE :D
