What Talents are good for a burglar

I made a Burglar because i wanted to open all the chests early etc.
Anyway i have him using a sabre and was wondering what talents i should go for??, get the shield ones, advance in the dodge or go with weapon parry.
Should i start him on armor use, or keep him in leather ??
Can you guys help me, up until now iv played as a dwarf Merc and a human Warrior which were really simple.
