When I press the map screen I just get a black square in the middle of the screen. I get this even if I have explored the region.

Has anyone else seen this problem.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks

Tim

Did you check u're options to make sure maybe you didn't shut that feature off?

I know with me the other day I accidently pressed tab and turned off the named items feature and it was REALLY hard to see what items dropped.

But I searched through my options and found the key that affected that and it was ALT so I just pressed it again and WAALA there were named items on my screen :D

I cant find an option to turn mapping off.

WHen the map is on, I see labels, but no map of the area.

What are you meant to see on there?

I have found a similar error. It seems that Dungeon Siege only displays the immediate visible area (ie. how ever much you can see at whatever zoom level you are at), and replaces the rest of the map with black squares. As the viewpoint moves, so do the black squares. This becomes a lot more noticeable when your computer starts becoming low on resources (it's probably a resource-saving technique), and the game may erroneously not remove some of the black (I found once that a circular area that I was walking in was black on the map, kinda like what a gap generator does to your radar screen in Red Alert). Try restarting your computer, and then reload the game and see if you have the same problem.

No map - Problem Resolved

Looks like the ATI RAGE MOBILITY CARD (in a laptop) , does not work preperly with the Driver used for windows xp.

I installed the old! windows 2000 ATI driver, and lo and behold it all works.

Microsoft still refuse to accept this as a bug in their driver though.

ANyway - if you are having problems - Load an ATI driver and see if it fixes it.
