In honor of this new forum of one of the best games evermade, I'm going to put up the first poll in this forum ;)

Ok the question is.

What class do u enjoy the most to play. Not which is the most powerful or which is the best team player but which char gives you the most pleasure to see grow into a level 70 monster? (EDIT: Plz also state your reason if any for your choice)

I'll have to choose a necromancer as I love to see how hourdes of monsters throw themslves at death and you don't have to do anything other that stand and summon a monster here and there :D

Paladins forever! :D

Migt I ask why? ( I detest paladins my self, they are fighters without fighting power IMO)

They have the best combination of everything. If you have the right auras, everyone loves you, with the right equipment you can solo in Hell Cows, but I'm a party-loving player and so I like to make Barbs happy with Fanaticism and Sorcs over the moon with Conviction. Oh, and Zeal is just too cool :p

I see your point but it i salomst the same to put an amplify damage or lower resistance or iron maifed on your enemies. peple think that the nec isn't much of a party player, but IMO he is a far better party player thna the paladin, no offence to all paladin lovers out there ;)

BTW what level did u get to at the most? with a paladin

I would say that a necro is almost as good a party player as a paladin, with the exception of being able to increase attack speeds of course (oh, and you can only have one curse on a monster at a time, but auras stack), but paladins are hardier than necros by far. You're just way too vulnerable once the Revive wall is gone...

The thing with having a level 25 firo golem is that it does not go away :) Also dealing 400 magik damage with having to roll to hit is very good (bone spirit). Also a splashing damage of 60-100% of the killed corpses health is quite good (corpse explosion)... On the other hand a nec with a paladin is a mean fighting machine. Imagine 5 summoned cows with a level 25 firegolem with them and thorn aura and iron maiden.... No one will be able to kill that elite group. Esp if th epal throe blassed hammer and the nec throws bone spirits all over the place..... a PK's dream :D not that I PK but still....

I like the Amazon best :p

the necromancer is the coolest. i ask you, what exactly is cooler than a horde of scuttling grinning skeletal minions? oh, and it makes fighting monsters that resurrect one helluva lot easier :D

i admit that it's not the easiest to play, especially against bosses, but even my super-amazon with her glowing fast socketed longbow of doom can't outdo a skeleton army in terms of coolness

LOL - this is the mentality that Diablo II puts me into - I almost called you a newbie and told you to piss off until you got a Windforce :D

heh, my bow ain't no windforce, but i got it early in act two, killed diablo + bhaal, did the cow level solo, got halfway through the next difficulty level, then lost my savegame - all using the same bow and never using hirelings

I remember back in the day before LOD i had a 99 Chu Ko Nu. Sons, Chivo, Joe, Tanya(aka tya), Musty, Goz, Mew, and myself would get in a priv game and let Sons do Chaos runs so he would hit 99(remember when it was actually hard to hit 99???). The rest of us went to Flayer, and OUter steps to MF. if we didnt have 8 people we made a game, and tya and i would pk anyone who tried stealing sons exp/diablo. that was so much fun. damn cows stole that all away   *sigh*

When LOD had been around for months, I thought I'd really like to do Act 4 runs again...no one else wanted to join in :(

Paladin??? Im with garaz on this one. Paladins only got the auras going for them. :p That blessed hammer is the biggest piece of uselessness ever created...heck, that whole page of skills is useless, IMO. :D

I really like the Necromancer, but I like the Druid a little more because of the shapeshifting. Cant say no to the wolf.

And the summoning table is just awesome. The elemental page is horrid, but the other skills make up for it.

So my list goes:
1-Druid
2-Necromancer
3-Barbarian
4-Assassin
5-Amazon (hehehe...for more then just the skills)
6-Paladin
7-Sorceress

Thats just me though.

Why does everyone who's never played a paladin seem to think that BH is a skill that most of them think is their best? I don't rate Blessed Hammer at all, personally I make HyperZealots (Zeal, Fanaticism and a fast weapon for a 4-frame attack...) or Avengers (Vengeance/Conviction). Since they nerfed BH hugely it's crap...

You assume too much. The only character I really havent played is a sorceress. I have a level 55 paladin, and on 1player, that is really good.

But I just dont have fun with him. The auras are the only thing thats really substantial, and the patch that fixed the holy shock aura, made it SO powerful, which made the Paladin the king of cheese. Concentration being the other notable aura. (All others are quite good, but dont make my notable list)

I singled out BH, because my friend used it all the time and said it was the best. I couldnt help but disagree. We had quite a few comical debates about it. :D Ah the stories I can tell. :D

Zeal/Fanaticism is good, agreed. But Zeal makes it that much more difficult to run away and you could get surrounded...

Do you have LOD?

Fanaticism in SP is as good as Conc and then some. And Holy Shock isn't broken - the 1-??? range means it's just as likely to do 1 damage as 300...

Hell yes. Holy shock was awful before the expansion...

I maybe so, but if you focused on Conc. before you got Fanaticism, Conc is better.

And it doesnt matter whether it goes from 1-whatever...it always seems to favor the bigger numbers, and the amount you hit, chances are, youre going to get some monster hits.

EDIT-How could I like the Druid if I didnt have LOD?

OTTOMH, at slvl 20, Conc does 350% ED. At slvl 20, Fanaticism does 373% ED, +35% Attack speed and +135% AR. Surely there's no contest?

And Zeal in LOD was limited to 5 hits, so you could never get stuck in a group. Not when you're taking less time to do those hits than a Barb takes to do one Concentrate with a Pike...
