Alpine Caverns

Im writing in hopes that some one will answer me
Im Stuck, I can't seem to get out of the Alpine Caverns, And I've searched everywhere, I even went back to Glacern
Im really stuck.. I've been on Quest 4 for the past two days, and There is no way to get out of the caverns, and when i went to jaramiah's there was no where i could go except back to Glacern.. I've searched everywhere i can, and i dont think that going back to glitterdelve mine will do me any good either..
P.S Is the Staff in the Swamp?

Welcome to the GB forums mia
Have you freed Merik yet? IIRC you have to free him in order to get out of the Caverns because he is the one that will give you your next quest. Merik should be deep into the Caverns trapped into a column of ice.

I'm having the same problem. Patience is not my better virtue and I am frustrated by going all the way back to Glacern only to find I should progress on the Kroth Fortress (sp?). I freed Meric and since there is no one else to ask where the staff is, I presume the fortress is the way to go. But, I can't find another way through the caverns.....

@Z. Yep, that gets you out of the caverns to the Trader. Once there though the map is closed and there is nowhere else to go...(a small rocky cavern excluded). Where is the fortress? I backtracked to Glacern but that didn't appear to help or give me any new hints. ...maybe I'm just being thick....

The fortress is way pass the Glacern. You will actually need to pass the Black forest and the huge swamp to reach the fortress but i can't remember much more.

The staff however is not at the fortress but at the Goblin Lair that is located just after the swamp.

If you look long enough.. Turns out I had missed the correct cavern after visiting the Trader. I was in megamap mode 'cause my eyes were tired of admiring all the snow and effects and the cavern enterance was only visible if you were in regular mode This cavern was a different one from the small rock cavern I had found earlier. Should anyone else have this problem, find/follow the path away from the Trader's house to the end where it reaches a rock wall (and cavern enterance). Thanks to all who offered help...
