Kills by summoned monsters

I realized you get experience for summoning monsters as a mage but when this monster kills an enemy I don't seem to get any experience. Is that the way the game works? I've watched my experience and it never seems to go up when I sit back and watch my summoned monster kill enemies.

Yes, unfortunately it's true. You get exp. only when you use your magic.

Xp
You get xp from each hit not the death. Summons help but you must attack with your own weapons or spells to maximize xp. Always use the spell with maximum hit value.
