Can't get Arbane's sword to charge .. Help !!

What do I need to do to get that pesky Arbane's sword to charge up it's haste special ability? I've tried using it, equiping it and resting past midnight, tried various characters, some with short sword proficiency, some without, and STILL can't get this haste ability working.
Because of this, shopkeepers only offer me 1 GP for it !!

If resting doesn't work, well, it's probably a bug
You could try selling it anyway, and then buy it back. This could fix it. Give it a shot at least.

Thanks for the idea - tried and it did't work. Must have affected the sword somehow coz its now worth 3000gp to sell. Bought it back, but still no haste ability ...
Has anyone else found this bug?
If not, can someone confirm that the special haste power of this sword is accessed by the star special ability button?

I believe the Daystar is accessed by the pouch...not the star.
The only other thing I can think of would be a Creature magic drained it....have you installed the patch?

Daystar? Whats that? Probably something further in the game, i've only just started BG2, have just finished the Windspear quest( rescue the child )
I'm interested in Arbane's Sword ...
I don't think I've run into any magic draining whatsits yet. Interesting point, though. If an item that recharges daily, like the Horn of Blasting gets drained, shouldn't it just recharge the next day?

The star ability button is for your own special powers. Your equipments special powers you usually access from the pouch button.

Thank you..I thought all of them was..just wasn't sure.
As for the Daystar...don't worry you will find it.

How in Roofdrak's darkest hell did I manage to play all of BG1 and 30 hours of BG2 without finding that button? Just unlucky, I guess.
