Sorceress & Immune to Cold

I have a sorceress lvl 76 and I'm playing in Hell mode (first city). I can't kill any Immune to Cold creature. That's because I usually upgraded only cold spells :( . My most powerful fire spell is hydra (lvl 10) and most lightning powerful lightning chain lightning (lvl 5)... I don't know what to do now. My spells don't do any damage to Immune to Cold creatures (except hydra, but it takes time and the monsters heal in the meantime, so it's useless...)
Can someone help me, please?

you'll have to use other party members to help you out. also, a merc will prolly help you out.

i woul suggest that you play for a while in a lower difficulty and gain some level and try to increase the power of what you do have, or get better items, anything that increases skill levels

You really need a merc that kills the CI, and also static field can really save you behind when battling against monsters with many HP.

With the synergies, it is really difficult to build a viable sorc who use all three skill-trees. If you plan to build a new sorc later on, I recommend you to focus on 1 skilltree and a very good merc, or 2 skilltrees and many items with +skills. In act 4 and 5, monsters really have lots of hitpoints at Hell difficulty.

For now, I think party play or beefing up your merc is the best solution. Give him the best possible eqipment you can find. You could put the skillpoints you get in Fire Mastery to increase your fire damage - don't put points in both the Fire and Lightning tree, except for 1 point in Static Field if you don't have it already. Try to look for +skills items.

Good luck!

Thank you for your replies!
I tried to play with a mercenary, but she's too weak. One brute killed her with 3 hits. But then again, my mercenary didn't have good armor when that happened.
But when I'm in a party with my friend who is barbarian, then we can kill ICs with no big problems. I guess I'll just stick to multiplayer playing...

@Jereza: What merc do you have? An Act 2 Holy Freeze or Defiance are the most efficient for your sorc, I think.

If it works well in party play, yes stick to that. In the meanwhile, you could try out a dual tree sorc as well.

Inorder for a merc to be effective you have to level him (Act 2 holy freeze is the way to go IMO) up to your level. This is can be quite notorious if you didnät bring him along from act 2 in NM but should not take all that much time. While leveling him up you can also do some mfing for items to the merc so it's not a complete waste of time....
