Question about buffing in WOW

In DAOC which I play now there is a huge problem with everybody needing two accounts - one main and one with a dedicated buffbot that can raise the effectiveness due to being mainly specced in "buff-lines" - to be able to do most anything anymore. Mythic has also said they balance (hehe) classes according to fully buffed classes, so they sort of expect people to have two accounts.

How is this actually handled by WOW. I've read sort of that buffs are spread out amongst more classes, or are there simply less buffs in the game, or do buffs not matter as much.

They're spread out, they have a relatively short duration, and they're useful rather than required.

Actually all classes have thier own ally and enemy buffs they can add. The warrior has only one ally buff however and that is battle shout (his other buffs only effect enemies.) I would say the most useful buffer class would be the shaman.
