Storyline in regards to PvP

I am new and admittedly ignorant in regards to WoW, but after sifting through numerous PvP vs. PvE posts a concern arose. Now, correct me if I am wrong but on PvP servers questing can become extremely difficult, even near impsosible, due to quests being located in enemy zones. Thus limiting your questing to friendly areas at least until you are strong enough to venture out alone. Also from what I have read this is a very quest oriented game, and by this I mean much if the storyline is learned through quests. So my concern is, is it possible for the storyline to be less developed to the individual player on PvP servers.
Personally, I want to be able to quest and do my own thing some of the time because its fun and is a break from fighting. However, the PvP aspect appeals to me as I have never played a game supporting it. Based on what I know, the best course of action for me would be to go PvE and just wait for Battlegrounds.
I would very much like to hear your thoughts on this matter as well as my storyline concern.
Thank you for your time

The difference between a PvP and RP/PvE server as I see it is that on a RP/E server you cannot get attacked by a player of the oposing faction without they first being flagged as in PvP and you then attacking them or vice versa. In the open beta(PvP server) people attacking you just like that when you ventured futher was not very likely. There were the occational raid but as long as you stayed out of their way you didn't have to be bother about them. I only got to level 20 in the beta but I can image that as you get higher in level and venture into tougher areas the chance to run into the opposing faction increases, but by the time this happesn you should be able to take care of yourself.
The only real reason I see from staying of the PvP server is all the l33t h4X0r sp34l< and teens playing, but if you are not bothered by this then I'd say go for PvP.

Well basically it will be decided by the clan members and the like. You guys are more then welcome to decide how you want to play and wehre you want to play. The beauty is that we can have different characters on different servers. So we can easily be on RP and PVP servers. It shouldnt be much of an issue. But it would be great if we all played 90% of the time on one server.
But it would be great if we all played 90% of the time on one server.
That is one of the major reasons to join a guild, you get to know the people that you are playing with, what tactics they use and such.

Well you won't have trouble finding plenty of quests that are on friendly territory. So you don't have to go into enemy territory to complete quests. Even dungeons, which are going to be the best places for questing with other people and where you might find the rarest items won't have any enemy players in them. When you enter a dungeon you enter a dungeon specifically made for yourself and only people in your party can go into that dungeon with you. If other people try to enter they will only walk into a different version of that dungeon that is only allowed for them and their party. PVP is just made for people who want more realism by being allowed to attack enemy players with no rules. Even on those servers, while it may be annoying becuz on my server enemy players who are in the level 20's and teens would attack our starting towns where the people are level 3 and have barely any armor. You still won't have trouble finding quests that are on ally territory, but I don't think it will stop people from taking advantage of being a higher level and not picking on people their own size.

Thank you all for your input.
Again excuse the ignorance, but the only difference between PvE and PvP is the amount of freedom given to attacking other players?
In other words are you losing any content, quests, raids, monster killing etc. by choosing PvP?
I understand that I might be beating this issue to the ground, but I just like to know what I am getting into.
Thanks again.

PvE and PvP are absolutely the same when it comes to all the things to mentioned. The only benefit you get from PvP is that you can attack the opposing faction with easy. Just click. Alteast how i see things. Otherwise there is no difference.
