I can't find the barrell to blow up so that i can get to the next village I have gone through all the mines and all the way around in the westin cross cave. but I can't seem to find the barrell I have read about blowing up to get to the other side of the gate. Can you help and lead me to the red barrell.

Wesrin Cross
Not too dificult but not too easy to spot either.
Remember _before_ you got to Wesrin Cross you came upon a doorway/gate that you could not open? Well what you need to do is to blow it from the other side.
So having left Wesrin Cross and reached the fresh air kill everything that moves (as if you wouldn't) then look for the other side of the gate on the same level. Hint: sort of leftish.

Red Barrel?
Barrel? There is no barrel you must complete a task to continue. Did you talk to the fighter before entering the mines? Do that then find his brother.
Hint:
Its underground.
