Can you kill other players on a non pvp server in wow or can you only do it in pvp servers. And is there a big diffrence in them? Would you loose alot if you chose one or the other?

p.s. about to buy game and would really apriciate it if someone helped

Yes, you can kill players of the opposing faction (not those of your own) on PVE servers (Blizzard calls them "normal servers" now ), but only under certain conditions. On PVP servers you can freely attack any player of the opposing faction who's not in their "green" starting territory.
